Currently in internal development, it has not been tested or used outside a school setting. The Problem: New parents often face exhaustion from constant crying, sleepless nights, and the need to manually rock or monitor their baby. Current baby cots provide limited support and require parents to buy extra tools like monitors, sensors, or rockers—raising both cost and complexity. The Solution: SmartNest is a multifunctional smart baby cot that addresses these challenges with built-in innovation and affordability. It allows babies to sleep soundly while easing the pressure on parents. Cost Analysis: SmartNest costs 550 AED ($150) to build, including all key components (camera, sensors, microcontrollers, actuators, frame, fabric). Buying all parts separately costs over 1400 AED, making SmartNest a budget-friendly and smart alternative. Sustainability & Impact: By merging multiple functions into one, SmartNest reduces material waste and avoids over-purchasing. It enhances health, reduces stress, and supports families during early parenthood. Future Vision: Currently a prototype developed by students, SmartNest has the potential to grow with expert collaboration. The aim is to bring it to market and support families globally.
