Prof. Dr. Claudia Brözel, Professor for Marketing Management und eCommerce in Tourism at the University for Sustainable Development Eberswalde (HNEE),
Germany, has been a member of the faculty since March 2012.
I am trying to support creative people in their change process with my network and my experience. I have a lot of Ideas and I would like to contribute to the transition of our society.
Another recent project is part of the Virtual Academy of Sustainability at the University of Bremen (www.va-bne.de). The online courses offered by different professors from all over Germany are about sustainable development, sustainable management, world in transition, or civic ecology, for example. Professor Brözel’s course titled “Tourism Management under the Aspects of Sustainability” is an excellent addition to this series.
Claudia Brözel completed her doctoral thesis at the University of Dresden in 2011 on the topic of “Prospects of transactions in the internet economy - on the example of the travel industry” (a Delphi-Study, see http://www.qucosa.de/recherche/frontdoor/?tx_slubopus4frontend[id]=8652)
From 2010 to 2012, she worked as an academic assistant at the University of Applied Sciences in Heilbronn with focus on market research (web controlling and web analyses), various projects, and the Google Online Marketing Challenge.
She is a founding member and acted as the President of the Verband Internet Reisevertrieb (www.v-i-r.de), an association of online travel agencies, from 2004 to 2009 and in this function created the Sprungbrett innovation competition.
Claudia Brözel acted as the General Manager of the Reiseschiedsstelle, an association for the promotion of alternative dispute resolution in the travel industry, from 2007 to 2009 of which she was a founding member too. The association operates a travel arbitration board, the first body for dispute resolution in online travel in Europe.
She started her academic career at the University of Bern where she worked as an assistant at the Research Institute for Leisure and Tourism from 1990 to 1991.
Since 1993, Claudia Brözel has worked as a freelance consultant, managing various projects in the areas of tourism development, tourism marketing, e-commerce, and new media through her market research and marketing consultancy firm [tse:be:] and she has served as a lecturer at different universities. She started her career with an apprenticeship as a hotel management assistant in the Black Forest region where she gained an in-depth understanding of the industry.
