Description
SheCounts is a youth-led initiative designed to teach middle and high school girls the financial skills they need to thrive—personally and professionally. It empowers girls with real-world money knowledge while also building confidence, leadership, and a sense of economic independence.
The program focuses on core financial topics like budgeting, saving, smart spending, goal-setting, and basic business planning, all taught through interactive, relatable, and hands-on activities. Unlike traditional finance lessons, SheCounts is built from a girl’s perspective—friendly, supportive, and full of real-life situations teens actually face.
SheCounts is designed to be modular and scalable: it can run as a one-day workshop, a 4–6 week after-school series, or a virtual club. It uses printables, Canva slides, and digital journals—no special tech required. As girls complete the program, they’re invited to become peer mentors who can lead sessions at their schools or in their communities, creating a self-sustaining, ripple-effect model.
The project also encourages conscious consumerism and social responsibility, helping girls understand how financial choices affect not only their future but also their communities and the environment.
By making financial education accessible, empowering, and girl-centered, SheCounts addresses multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:
• SDG 5: Gender Equality
• SDG 4: Quality Education
• SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
• SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
Ultimately, SheCounts is more than a money skills program—it’s a movement to ensure girls grow up believing they are capable, confident, and in control of their financial futures.
Expertise
⸻
My expertise lies in creating engaging, youth-friendly programs that build confidence through financial literacy, leadership, and entrepreneurship. I know how to simplify complex topics like budgeting and business planning into fun, hands-on activities that resonate with teen girls. Through SheCounts, I can support other organizations—like schools, nonprofits, or student clubs—by providing ready-to-use toolkits, workshops, and peer-led models they can adopt easily. I bring a fresh, student-led perspective that helps organizations connect with the next generation in a meaningful and empowering way.
