Description
My idea, RAPTOR, stands for Rapid Alert & Patrol Tracking for Operational Rescue; it is the forest's first frontline responder. It is a compact, weatherproof, low-cost, and low-power AI-powered acoustic device equipped with an omnidirectional microphone and a camera trained using machine learning to detect the presence and distress alarm calls of targeted animal species such as the Asian elephant, Bengal tiger, and stag. Once it detects both movement and a verified distress call, it immediately sends a real-time alert to nearby authorities through LoRaWAN wireless communication—giving them crucial time to intervene before it’s too late... RAPTOR is equipped with an integrated siren that triggers upon confirmed detection, creating a loud, startling noise designed to deter poachers and alert nearby officers—turning the forest's silence into a shield. It's solar-powered, affordable, and easy to mount on trees, making it perfect for remote areas. By focusing on what really matters—saving animals before harm happens—RAPTOR brings technology into conservation in a way that's simple, scalable, and built for the real world.
I would love to transform my idea into a working prototype in the future and help mitigate human-animal conflict through smart, sustainable technology....
