IdeaSkillCycle: A Peer‑Powered Learning Exchange

SkillCycle is a peer‑powered learning platform designed to expand access to education by turning students into both teachers and learners. Many students struggle to access tutoring, skill development programs, or enrichment opportunities because of financial barriers. At the same time, young people often possess valuable skills—such as coding, languages, music, mathematics, or design—but lack opportunities to share and develop them. SkillCycle addresses this challenge through a credit‑based learning exchange. Instead of paying money for lessons, users earn learning credits by teaching skills they already have. These credits can then be used to attend sessions taught by other users. For example, a student could teach a beginner guitar class and earn credits, which they could then use to attend a calculus tutoring session. This creates a circular ecosystem where knowledge continuously flows between participants.
