Leadership skills, New Leadership
Updated on: Mar 12, 2025
Those with strong leadership skills are able to support a group, delegate tasks and solve problems while creating a work-promoting environment. They organise activities effectively and implement them in a goal-oriented manner.
The concept of leadership goes beyond mere authority and encompasses the ability to lead a group towards common goals and create a harmonious working environment. This requires both organisational talent and the ability to foster motivation and provide clear direction. Here is an unusual definition of leadership that focuses on implementing a vision (or an entrepreneurial design): ‘Leadership is the ability to turn a vision into reality.’ - Warren Bennis
For aspiring entrepreneurs, developing and strengthening their leadership skills is important to their success. Through the ability to effectively lead and motivate teams, they can implement their design and lead their companies to success.
Implications for peer learning
In their ventures, people with the strength of leadership should focus on building a positive work environment where employees can reach their full potential. Part of being a leader involves organising activities, delegating tasks and fostering a culture of trust and collaboration. People with leadership skills should focus on improving their communication skills in order to effectively convey their vision and inspire employees. In addition, they should make sure to practice balanced leadership that leaves room for their team members to develop and grow. However, they should also be careful not to become too authoritarian and to respect the ideas and opinions of others to ensure a harmonious working environment.
