8/16/2024ReplyPeer reviews are the most important part of the peer learning process and your project development. Both reviewers and presenters can benefit greatly from this peer-to-peer learning. They enable presenters to receive valuable feedback and improve their projects. They also realise how well and confidently they have penetrated their subject matter. And the reviewer has the opportunity to delve deep into the peer's approach and topics. This article describes the process of a peer review, from booking the appointment to providing feedback.
Appointments
The reviewer offers several time slots for peer reviews and sets up a video call (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) for each one.
When you have completed a project, you book one of the available slots. You never know who the reviewer will be. This way we avoid cliques and enable the presenter to communicate with a wide variety of peers. In addition, both expand their network.
Important note: Don't forget to put the date in your diary to make sure you don't miss it.
Duration and structure of peer reviews
Peer reviews always take 30 minutes.
In the first 15-20 minutes, the learner presents the project and explains the important aspects and decisions.
In the following 10-15 minutes, the project is discussed and aspects are scrutinised.
Project presentation
When you present your project, pay attention to executive communication. This means
Clarity and conciseness: Communicate the key points of the project clearly and concisely.
Relevance: Concentrate on the most important aspects and decisions.
Reasons: Explain why you have decided in favour of certain options and solutions.
Feedback process (also see #goodfeedback)
After the session, both participants fill out the feedback forms.
Important note: You will only receive your karma point after completing the feedback forms. You cannot make or receive any further reviews until you have given your feedback.
Preparation
Make sure you have prepared your project and all relevant materials well. Be ready to share the files/browser windows in the video call!
Be prepared to explain your decisions and their background clearly and comprehensibly.
Time management
Stick to the specified time structure to ensure that all important points can be discussed.
Plan enough time for discussion and feedback.
