Max Senges: Knowledge Entrepreneurship
Updated on: May 21, 2024
In his dissertation „Knowledge Entrepreneurship: Strategy and Practice in the Case of Internet Based Innovation Appropriation”, Prof. Dr. Max Senges develops an in-depth philosophical model of the entrepreneurial mindset that encompasses four central poles.
Firstly, Senges emphasizes the importance of enlightenment and maturity, whereby an internal locus of control is essential as the basis for a formative, free will to actively approach one's own life and ventures of any kind.
Secondly, he refers to axiology (values) and teleology, emphasizing how a compass of personal values and virtues as well as the recognition of one's mission (vocation) play a fundamental role in the development of conceptual-creative ventures that are coherent with the person.
Third, he emphasizes the importance of pragmatism and cybernetics, which promote a strong bias to action, as well as the importance of experimentation, learning and evolutionary development. Fourthly, Senges emphasizes ethics and sustainability as central guiding principles that every company should strive for in order to act not only economically, but also ethically correct and ecologically sustainable. This mindset model provides a comprehensive framework for understanding and cultivating the “entrepreneurial spirit” necessary for creating sustainable creative destruction (entrepreneurial practice) in the Internet age.
