#MEET Mobile App for Birth Registration and Statutory Declaration of Age

This is a short interview we conducted with Oladayo Olorunfemi, the founder of “Mobile App for Birth Registration and Statutory Declaration of Age”. If you like the concept of this idea and would like to vote for it, click HERE.

  • What is your background?

Oladayo Olorunfemi is 32 years old, a Nigerian entrepreneur and a graduate of business administration from University Abuja, Nigeria. He majors in the field of social & development research as well as in information technology & process re-engineering. Dayo is currently working towards Developing Mobile App for Birth Registration and Statutory Declaration of Age in Nigeria.

  • Describe your idea or project in two sentences.

Mobile App for registration of child birth is a social mission which is intended to TRACK low birth weights of neonatal infants with plans to mitigate consequences of neonatal mortality especially in rural areas. This mission begins with the collection of vital statistics and extends towards identifying vulnerable groups with a clause to control the rate of age alteration.

  • What are the benefits you take from the Entrepreneurship Campus?

Through my participation in Entrepreneurship Campus, I was able to share my research experience with campus members, by analyzing their projects and ideas. The online-training program from Entrepreneurship Campus did not only expand my thoughts, but empowered me to restructure my mission.

  • What motivates you to be an entrepreneur?

In my search for knowledge, I discovered that the only way to have freedom and to aid social justice for the poor is to solve social problems. Hence, I choose to act and not to be silent in my pursuit of freedom for others.

  • Imagine you have ‚supreme power’ to create and innovate: how would your world look like? What changes would you like to make in your community and/or in the world? Share your thoughts from a ‚supreme power’ and entrepreneur standpoint.

The world that I see and seek is a place where there is less threat to social justice. Every community has needs that are unmet. Sometimes, it takes a decade to identify who can solve that problem. When we give verifiable identity to people irrespective of their social status, the solution that we all seek becomes closer.

  • What would you say to potential voters who may be reading your interview?

I believe that I am not in this journey alone. Because there are young minds who share my dream to ensure no Nigeria child that is born today or in the future is left behind. Please Vote for this solution and make it come alive.
