ProjectRaising Nutritional Literacy and Health Awareness Through NutriGuard

NutriGuard is a user-friendly mobile application that empowers individuals to make informed food choices through advanced technological solutions. The user can scan barcodes at the back of food products, manually enter their name or scan the ingredient list to get a personalized product analysis. Each response generated by Nutriguard is based on the user's unique characteristics, including their allergies, medical conditions, gender, and age. We offer more than 6+ language preferences and allow users to directly upload their medical documents. Using AI, NutriGuard generates personalized analysis reports that include nutritional values, ingredient pros and cons, environmental impact, NutriScores, and EcoScores and provides a comprehensive overview of each product. The app also features an AI chatbot for real-time interaction, offering immediate responses about ingredients, nutritional content, or healthier alternatives. The app prioritizes user data security with end-to-end encryption, strong privacy policies, and options for data deletion. Its database contains over 2.8 million food products, enabling users to explore a wide range of items. NutriGuard also addresses the needs of older users with a user-friendly interface featuring large buttons and contrasting colors. By democratizing access to nutritional information, NutriGuard aims to improve eating habits and overall well-being, especially among underserved populations. The entrepreneurial and innovative nature of NutriGuard has already led to over 4,000 downloads, showcasing its potential to make a significant impact on public health and nutrition​. Furthermore, NutriGuard aims to advance SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by improving the eating habits of its thousands of users and future potential users. It also aligns with SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by encouraging users to make informed and healthier food choices. Moreover, SDG 13 (Climate Action) is supported by NutriGuard’s consideration of the environmental impact of food products in its analysis report. Additionally, SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) is supported by NutriGuard's free-to-use platform, ensuring accessibility for all, and reducing the need to pay hundreds in healthcare expenses.
