More and more young people are choosing to launch their own ventures – not despite, but because of global challenges. According to the latest Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, entrepreneurial activity among 18–34-year-olds is at an all-time high worldwide. The desire to take responsibility, create real solutions, and actively shape the future is stronger than ever.
That’s exactly where the Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition 2025 (CEC) comes in. From May 12 to August 12, you have the chance to join an international movement – by submitting your idea for a better world. But the CEC is about more than just submitting an idea: it’s about thinking and acting entrepreneurially, even when resources are limited. CEC shows you how to launch something meaningful – without needing a lot of starting capital.
Through hands-on tools like the Entrepreneurial Design Canvas, you’ll learn how to make the most of what you already have, combine resources creatively, and build a sustainable and impactful business model. Instead of chasing funding first, the CEC focuses on the power of ideas, strategic thinking, and real problem-solving skills.
Because those who learn to start with little often develop the most viable and flexible ideas.
The Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition is a global contest inviting people aged 13 and up to submit ideas and projects that align with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Whether your idea relates to education, climate, health, or social justice – your voice matters.
How it works:
Register: Create your profile on the Entrepreneurship Campus.
Submit your idea: Upload your pitch – short, clear, and full of impact!
Learn & improve: Use free tools like the Entrepreneurial Design Canvas and access online courses.
Public voting: Gather votes from the community – the top 10 ideas make it to the finals!
Final round & award ceremony: A panel of experts selects the winners.
Your idea deserves a stage – that's why it's worth participating!

For CEC 2025, we’re focusing exclusively on early-stage ideas. In previous years, already implemented projects were also welcome to apply – but this time, it’s all about fresh concepts. We want to discover what issues are moving people around the world right now – and what bold, creative ideas are emerging as potential solutions. Let’s put the spotlight on the power of ideas – before they become reality.
Taking part in the Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition is about more than just winning a prize. You'll get valuable feedback from an international community that, just like you, believes in sustainable innovation and entrepreneurial change. You’ll further develop your idea with practical tools like the Entrepreneurial Design Canvas, access free learning resources, and become part of a global network of young founders, innovators, and changemakers – a community that will support and inspire you. Whether you're just getting started or already running a project, your perspective matters. This is your chance to make your vision visible and take your first step toward an entrepreneurial future.
✨ Be part of a movement – not just a competition ✨
Whether you’re still shaping your idea or already in motion – you’re welcome here. Show how you take entrepreneurial responsibility and inspire others to do the same.
👉 Register now and join the competition.
We can’t wait to meet your Ideenkind!
