- Our team's name: Relander - Highlights: Using recycled paper pieces mixed with flower seeds, instead of the glitter core inside the regular firecrackers. Impact: Completely solves the problem of polymer fragments when using paper fireworks, and at the same time handles the following urgent problems: water pollution (because polymers from paper fireworks are difficult to decompose and flow with rainwater) and soil pollution
Trash to Treasure is a facility, where people donate their unwanted items and where other people would pick up these items for under $15 or repair/resell those items. One area would be all under $15. Think of it as a thrift store where everything is under $15. There would also be another marketplace that’s reselling the refurbished items from the workshops. It’ll be a space for individuals to sell their upcycled goods. Look at the image attached to see what the layout of Trash to Treasure would look like. People often think of unwanted items as all useless junk, but that is a misconception. Approximately 20% of what we throw away can be recycled or refurbished (Nizar et al., 2018). Creating a way for the city to close the loop with consumption would greatly help reduce waste (Nizar et al., 2018; Geissdoerfer et al., 2017), which Trash to Treasure would do.
In 2022, I started Happy Hands Pots& Pans (H2P2), to collect worn out Teflon-coated cooking pans which are health and environmental hazards. H2P2 collects these pans from different households and trains people with mental and physical disabilities to recycle them into exquisite wall hangings. These items are sold as home-decor, and the net proceeds are remitted to the associated NGOs for the benefit of the artists.

FreeMask: Revolutionizing Mask Usage for a Sustainable Future FreeMask is an innovative sustainable entrepreneurship model dedicated to reducing the waste generated by single-use medical masks. We distribute free, reusable masks, funded entirely by advertisements displayed on the masks themselves. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, waste from single-use plastic masks has become a global environmental issue, including in Vietnam. Over 1.5 billion masks have ended up in the ocean, with countless more discarded in landfills and on streets. This contributes significantly to the climate crisis, highlighting the urgent need for a sustainable solution. Eliminating the 'single-use' aspect of plastic masks is clearly beneficial. While reusable fabric masks exist, the convenience and low cost of single-use masks continue to dominate the market. FreeMask addresses this by offering high-quality, reusable fabric masks at no cost to the public. We achieve this by leveraging the mask surface as an advertising platform that corporations and NGOs can rent, providing them with a cost-effective and impactful way to engage with their audience. Our masks are crafted from premium fabric, featuring adjustable ear loops and a nose wire for a personalized, comfortable fit. They are designed for extended wear and can maintain their quality through multiple washes. Importantly, FreeMasks are distributed to those who need them most, including construction workers, manual laborers, cleaners, environmental volunteers, hospital patients, and individuals in areas with poor air quality. For every mask distributed, we donate 1,000 VND to charities and non-profit organizations addressing ongoing health crises. Our business model ensures that the production costs of the masks are fully covered by advertisement revenue. Our solution adheres to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including: - SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production - Our reusable masks help reduce the waste generated by single-use masks, promoting sustainable practices. - SDG 14: Life Below Water - By minimizing mask waste, we contribute to cleaner oceans and protect marine life from plastic pollution. - SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being - Providing reusable masks helps reduce exposure to airborne pollutants, improving public health, especially for those in polluted areas. - SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth - FreeMask offers affordable branding and advertising for startups and creates jobs, supporting economic growth. FreeMask not only addresses environmental challenges but also enhances public health and supports economic growth, proving that sustainable solutions can make a significant difference.
HealthTech will be the solution to today's growing number of chronic diseases. Due to the false news about health and the increasing number of people who believe these news, it has become very difficult for people to access accurate information, especially on the internet. Please access this link (Google Docs) to review the complete business plan: https://tinyurl.com/3rzdy4rr Atopic dermatitis (eczema) is a prevalent skin condition among Vietnamese, with 5% - 10% of the population suffering from it, which is about 5 million - 10 million people. This is a chronic skin condition that can lead to severe discomfort, psychological distress, and a diminished quality of life. The problem is exacerbated in rural and underserved urban communities, where access to quality eczema care is severely limited. Many patients resort to unreliable self-treatment methods or endure long waits and high costs at hospitals and clinics. Consequently, untreated or poorly managed eczema can result in infections, sleep disturbances, and significant mental health issues. Our solution is a comprehensive eczema app designed to provide personalized care. The app creates a basic personalized plan for users to follow. After following this plan for a period of time (up to one month), patients can choose whether to continue with the plan or seek further assistance from doctors through the app. To develop these personalized plans, the app collects data on users’ symptoms, lifestyle habits, and environmental conditions, and uses AI to provide treatment suggestions. During the treatment plan, the app also offers additional features, including a reminder system, a community forum and pair-up system, and an e-profile for users who decide to consult a doctor. As the demand for effective atopic dermatitis treatments in Vietnam is projected to double by 2030, our app is poised to meet this growing need. We aim to empower patients with the tools and knowledge to manage their condition effectively, improving their overall health and well-being.
Most young people face significant challenges in gaining practical experience through internships. This reality became evident to me after my own attempt to enroll in an internship. I discovered that there were very few websites offering internships, and those available were targeted at university students or located in other countries. This experience highlighted the need for a program that provides internship opportunities to students worldwide, especially those in countries with limited internship availability, like my own. YouthWorkHub is an innovative initiative designed to tackle the pervasive issue of youth unemployment by offering a robust program that combines vocational training with job placement services. The program is intended for young people between the ages of 15 and 22, which includes both high school and college students. What sets YouthWorkHub apart from traditional internship programs is its comprehensive approach to bridging the gap between education and employment. By providing targeted training and facilitating connections with local businesses, YouthWorkHub ensures that participants gain valuable experience that directly aligns with their career aspirations. One of the core advantages of YouthWorkHub is its broad accessibility and customization. Unlike conventional programs that may only cater to university students or specific demographics, YouthWorkHub offers opportunities across various industries and skill levels, making it inclusive for a wider range of young people. The program's localized focus means that internships are tailored to meet the needs of the community, creating a symbiotic relationship between students and local businesses. This approach not only enhances the relevance of the work experience but also strengthens the local economy by supporting businesses with skilled interns. Moreover, YouthWorkHub's commitment to personalized training sets it apart from other internship programs. Each participant receives career counseling and vocational training that is specifically tailored to the requirements of their chosen internship. This level of customization ensures that students are well-prepared and equipped with the skills necessary to excel in their roles. Additionally, the training modules are accredited and provide recognized certifications, adding substantial value to the students' resumes and significantly enhancing their employability. In addressing geographical and accessibility constraints, YouthWorkHub offers flexible solutions such as remote internships and partnerships with multinational companies. This flexibility ensures that even students from areas with limited local opportunities can benefit from the program. Furthermore, YouthWorkHub's ongoing support and evaluation mechanisms, including continuous feedback collection, help refine and improve the program, ensuring high standards and effectiveness. Overall, YouthWorkHub stands out as a comprehensive and adaptable solution for empowering youth and fostering economic growth through practical, experience-driven internships.

I have a vision to create a product in an innovative way which will not only harvest renewable energy, but save energy at the same time. Introducing the Sol-Park, a frame with solar panels on top which is placed in parking spots. The goal is to not only save energy, but also harvest energy in a renewable and sustainable manner. The solar panel acts like a shade, absorbing direct sunlight as well as harvesting renewable energy. On a hot day, the ground can heat up to around 100 degrees fahrenheit, but research shows a shade can reduce temperatures from 11 to 19 degrees fahrenheit. Parking under a Sol-Park can reduce the amount of energy you need to cool down your car, and in the long run this can save a lot of energy. These Sol-Parks can come in big rows that can be installed in an open parking lot, or individual parking spots that can even be used for personal use. They also use sunlight sensors and AI to tilt according to where direct sunlight is hitting to maximize efficiency. Saving and using energy in a sustainable manner is extremely important as non-renewable resources become more expensive each day, so conserving energy and making renewable energy all in one product has a huge market space.
