The Grameen PowerBox is a modular, solar-powered energy solution. It is designed to bring affordable and reliable electricity to rural households in Bangladesh who face uncertain power cut for overloaded electricity grid or poor infrastructure or natural disasters like flood. Bangladesh faces unexpected floods almost every year. During that time, people often have to live on their rooftops for days and experience power outages. It is designed to be compact and portable so that people can use it wherever needed in critical situation. It aims to reduce energy poverty by enabling basic lighting, phone charging, and powering small appliances. This community-driven model empowers local youth as energy entrepreneurs, supporting clean energy access, rural livelihoods and resilience in disastrous situations.

Volunteer Anytime. Volunteer Anywhere. VolunGo is a platform unlike any other. Instead of requiring users to search individually for nearby opportunities, it offers a seamless, map-based system that facilitates an interactive user experience. The map interface enables users to RSVP for volunteering events with a single click. Through this streamlined process, the platform benefits both users and local community organizations. Organizations can easily connect with potential volunteers, while users can participate in opportunities conveniently based on their location. Users can also contact NGOs directly, eliminating the need for cold emailing and allowing them to support causes they genuinely believe in quickly and accessibly. Moreover, the app's social media component enables users to earn civic credits, which reflect their volunteering activity and incentivize more frequent participation. With civic credits, users can make small purchases and use the in-app tracking of volunteer hours, total credit points, and overall impact to generate a certificate. This certificate can be used not only for college applications but also in professional contexts, such as job applications. Our goal is to create an interactive experience for all users, including the ability to add local events, with the aim of supporting new and growing non-profits and ultimately enabling everyone to volunteer anytime and anywhere.

SkillBox is a simple mobile-based learning platform I came up with to help underprivileged high school girls in India. A lot of them can’t access proper education or earn their own money, and I wanted to change that in a small but real way. The idea is to teach them useful digital and business skills — like how to use Canva, manage digital payments, or even start freelancing — all in short videos they can watch on their phones, even if they have low data or no fancy devices. The lessons would be in Hindi or other local languages so it’s easy to understand. Once they complete a few courses, they’ll be connected to small internships or paid tasks from local NGOs or businesses. This way, they not only learn but also earn — which can boost their confidence a lot. They’ll also collect reward points for finishing tasks, which they can use for phone recharges or basic study tools. SkillBox is all about giving these girls a fair chance to stand on their feet — in a way that’s practical, low-cost, and actually helpful in the real world.
Many girls grow up without basic financial education, making them less confident in managing money, starting businesses, or investing in their futures. SheCounts is a youth-led financial literacy workshop series designed to empower middle and high school girls with essential business and money skills. Through fun, interactive sessions, girls learn how to budget, price products, compare costs, save, and even pitch small business ideas. Each session includes hands-on challenges like “Create a business plan with $100” or “Design your dream storefront and calculate expenses.” The program can be delivered in schools, libraries, or virtually, using Canva slides and printable workbooks. SheCounts builds confidence, closes the gender finance gap, and prepares girls to become financially independent leaders and future entrepreneurs.

Our idea is to set up high-tech hydroponic farms on our own land to grow food sustainably and help fight hunger. Hydroponics allows crops to grow without soil and use up to 90% less water, making it ideal for water-scarce regions. We plan to grow a diverse range of crops — from leafy greens like spinach, kale, and lettuce to staple vegetables like tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers, along with herbs such as basil and mint, and even strawberries. By utilizing vertical stacking systems, smart automation, and AI-driven sensors to monitor water, light, and nutrients in real time, we will be able to produce food continuously throughout the year with much higher yields per square meter than traditional farming. Powered by solar energy and rainwater recycling, our farm will not only reduce waste and emissions but also lower farming costs. What makes our approach unique is the combination of proven hydroponic methods with automation at scale and a strong local focus — ensuring that food is grown close to the communities who need it most. By delivering fresh, affordable produce directly to these communities, we help improve food security, create local job opportunities, and support UN Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Zero Hunger). Our farm aims to demonstrate that sustainable, tech-powered agriculture can make a real impact in providing nutritious food while conserving water and energy — all year round, and regardless of soil or climate conditions.

PerifaPlay is a free digital platform designed for audiovisual creators from marginalized communities to publish their videos, gain visibility, and earn real and sustainable income through ads, sponsorships, and direct support from their audience. The platform accepts content such as short films, documentaries, music videos, and series focused on culture, education, and social impact. More than just a video site, PerifaPlay is a comprehensive ecosystem that values peripheral culture by offering free courses, workshops, and networking spaces for creators. The goal is to fight the invisibility of these talents, expand their professional opportunities, and especially to boost the local creative economy by turning culture into a concrete source of income and development. This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including poverty eradication, quality education, decent work, and reduced inequalities, aiming to transform audiovisual media into a real tool for social, economic, and cultural development.

OceanGuard Bins are compact, solar-powered machines designed to sit quietly by the ocean, looking like normal trash bins — but inside, they’re high-tech warriors. These devices connect to underwater collectors or drones that sweep through parts of the ocean, gathering plastic waste. Once plastic enters the OceanGuard, it’s broken down into fine powder that can later be reused for recycled products. They’re low-maintenance, eco-friendly, and can be placed along coastlines, ports, or fishing zones where ocean plastic is high.

Rescue Reach revolutionizes beach safety, addressing the global drowning crisis that claims over 350,000 lives annually, especially in lifeguard-sparse areas. Our autonomous system combines advanced drone technology and AI image recognition to expand lifeguard capabilities tenfold. It detects dangerous rip currents instantly, notifies local lifeguards, instructs struggling swimmers on how to escape, and deploys life preservers when needed. In Brazil alone, where lifeguards only cover 30% of leisure water environments, drowning has claimed 179,000 lives over 25 years, with many in unmonitored areas. Rescue Reach enables lifeguards to monitor vast coastlines with pinpoint accuracy. Dangerous currents? Detected instantly. Struggling swimmers? Spotted and supported before disaster strikes. Equipped with the ability to deploy life preservers, these drones keep swimmers safe until help arrives. Rescue Reach isn't just a tool; it's the future of beach safety, making waves to protect what matters most.
Many small villages don’t have access to clean water and can’t afford high-tech filtration systems. AquaNova is a low-cost, solar-powered water purification solution built to solve that problem. The IncludED Hub is an easily accessible, online program which grants low/free of cost certifications in various digital skills through the completion of the various courses offered. These courses are specifically shaped in a way that is compatible with refugees, disabled persons, socio-economically disadvantaged youth, etc. These courses are completed at the user's own speed of preference, and are aided with functions like multilingual captions and support to make these courses more accessible. Through the partnerships that this program garners from universities and tech companies, certifications and achievements are sure to be recognized by employers. Furthermore, the new found development skills will help one climb to the top of the corporate ladder, or start an enterprise themself. Newcomers can enroll online or through partnered organizations, which is where they can receive temporary aid like laptops and assistive devices. These courses are able to be completely completed independently at home, whilst still having that online 1 on 1 support from volunteer instructors. IncludED Hub not only provides certification programs but real world job assistance and career readiness resources, through coaching and a community that connects learners to potential jobs and internships. The funding that this Hub receives is through grants, sponsors, and sliding-scale fees, which allows the most impoverished to receive quality education for free. This idea aims to take on the problems of education and unemployment percentages/gaps amongst the disadvantaged. To put this gap into perspective, approximately only 7% of refugees are able to access higher education, and disabled people face on average over 2 years of less schooling than non-disabled people. IncludED Hub aims to close that gap. By providing the options of digital learning and course completion, learners gain a new sense of acquired skill sets, drastically increasing their odds at future opportunity.
